Postdoctoral position in ceteris paribus conditions, Cologne, GERMANY


The Chair of Philosophy of Science (Professor Andreas Httemann) at the 
University of Cologne seeks applications for the following 2-year 
position, which is part of the research group: Explanation and Causation 
(FOR 1063), which is financed by the DFG (Deutsche 
Forschungsgemeinschaft):

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter/in) (TVL 13) in 
fulltime position

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the project 
"Ceteris-paribus conditions and macro-Iaws", which is part of the research 
group. The candidate will partake in all of the research group's academic 
activities and enjoy its administrative facilities and financial support. 
The research group helps its researchers with the costs that arise from 
attending conferences (fees, traveling, accommodation). Information about 
the research group's activities can be found at: 
http://www.clde.uni-koeln.de/ There is the possibility, though no 
obligation, to do some teaching in either English or German. The position 
is open for candidates with a PhD in philosophy (preferably philosophy of 
science). The position should be taken up by October 1, 2013, but a later 
starting date may also be possible. The University of Cologne is an equal
