Computer vision internship opportunities at MERL (Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs)
Contact: fatih@merl.com
Several computer vision internship opportunities at MERL, Cambridge, MA. Send your resume, desired term, and available dates to Dr. Fatih Porikli ( fatih@merl.com ) Medical data analysis at MERL. This research project aims 3D segmentation and automatic tracking of target objects in medical data including ultrasound, CT-scan, and X-ray sequences. Video mining background may also be helpful. Publications at the flagship conferences as a result of the internship are highly encouraged. Prototyping is expected. Excellent Matlab and C++ (MSVC) implementation skills are required. GPU programming (preferably with CUDA) is a big plus. Available immediately, longer term internship is also possible. (No undergraduate students) Sensing objects and computing pose: It is suitable for a student interested in a practical internship, with an emphasis on creating and demonstrating a complete system. The work will build on an experimental sensor utilizing camera, laser projector and LEDs. The research goal is to compute pose and demonstrate object retrieval by a robot arm for challenging cases - specular and transparent objects, cluttered objects, non-rigid objects. Development will be a mix of prototyping in Matlab, and development in C++, plus the possibility of GPU programming. The internship is available immediately. Object and feature tracking, object classification, motion analysis, and scene synthesis. Prototyping is expected. Publications at the flagship conferences (e.g. ECCV 2008) as a result of the internship are highly encouraged. Excellent Matlab and especially C++ (MSVC) implementation skills are required. Available immediately. (No undergraduate students. Students previously worked on large software development projects will be preferred ) Monthly salary is around 00~00 depending on the educational background. |
