Joint Bursary for Postgraduate work in Computational, Mathematical or 
Philosophical Logic at University of Pretoria

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Pretoria (UP) and the 
Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR) at the Meraka Institute 
at the CSIR offer a bursary for postgraduate study in formal 
(computational, mathematical or philosophical) logic at the Department of 
Philosophy at UP. Candidates must register at the Department of Philosophy 
and may be co-supervised by a member of CAIR.

The bursary is for R50 000 for either Master or Doctoral study and may be 
renewable for a second and third year of study.

Please send a full CV, accompanied by a letter of research intent, and a 
brief outline of a research proposal for your study (1000 words max.) to 
emma.ruttkamp-bloem@up.ac.za and tmeyer@csir.co.za by 30 October 2014.
