*** Registration opens for ICIDS 2010 *** *** Early registration deadline Sept 7th *** ************************************************* 3rd International Conference on Interactive Digital Storytelling ************************************************* 01-03 November 2010, Edinburgh, UK http://www.macs.hw.ac.uk/icids2010 ICIDS is the premier international event on Interactive Digital Storytelling (IDS), showcasing work that seeks to redefine the experience of narrative through interactive simulations of computer-generated story worlds in interactive entertainment, computer games, education, therapy and other interactive digital applications. You are invited to come to Edinburgh in November and participate in a stimulating programme of papers from leading researchers, with three contrasting invited speakers: - Michael Mateas (University of California at San Diego): one of the authors of the interactive narrative Façade and leading researcher in the overlap of intelligent interactive technology and artistic expressiveness - Alex Whittaker (We R Interactive, UK): experienced developer of narratively-driven computer games - Carl Heath (GR Experiental Learning, Sweden): long-term work in Live Role-Play for education, interactive narrative with non-actors There will also be a special session for demos and posters The conference (Nov-1st-3rd) is preceded by a programme of workshops and tutorials: - Users and Evaluation of Interactive Storytelling - Introduction to Interactive Story Creation - Education in Interactive Storytelling - Towards a Shared Vocabulary for Interactive Digital Storytelling - Interactive Stories for Health Interventions - Storytelling Within an Internet of Things On the evening Sunday October 31st – the festival of Halloween – there will be a special digital text in perfomance event: ‘Inspace Nobody Can Hear you Scream’ to be held at the University of Edinburgh’s unique interactive space http://inspace.mediascot.org/ ************ Registration is now open at http://www.macs.hw.ac.uk/icids2010/Registration.html **sign up before September 7th for an early registration discount ** |
