CALL FOR PAPERS: Granular Computing, November 8-10, 2011, TAIWAN
2011 IEEE International Conference on Granular Computing, Kaohsiung, Taiwan -Sponsored By IEEE Computer Society
++++++++++++++++ Important Dates ++++++++++++++++ Workshop & Special Session proposal submission: June 1, 2011 Electronic submission of full papers: July 1, 2011 Notification of paper acceptance: August 15, 2011 Camera-ready of accepted papers: September 1, 2011 Conference: November 8-10, 2011 +++++++++++++++++++ Topics of Interest +++++++++++++++++++ The topics and areas include, but are not limited to: Computational Intelligence (Granular Computing, Neural Networks, Fuzzy Systems, Neutrosophic Systems, Evolutionary Computation, Rough Sets, Formal Concept Analysis, etc.) Foundation of Data Mining and Learning Theory (Probabilistic/Stochastic Learning, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Feature Selection, Knowledge Representation, Kernel Machines, Web Intelligence, etc.) Social Network Analysis and Mining (Communities Discovery and Analysis in Social Networks, Contextual Social Network Analysis, Data Protection inside Communities, Dynamics and Evolution Patterns of Social Networks, Impact of Social Networks on Recommendations Systems, Knowledge Networks, Multi-agent based Social Network Modeling and Analysis, etc.) Granular Computing Applications (Agents, Cloud Computing, Databases, Bioinformatics, Knowledge-based Systems, Information Integration, Multi-media Applications, Medical Informatics and Chemical Informatics, E-Learning, Semantic Web, Robotics and Control, etc.) +++++++++++++++++++ Paper Submission +++++++++++++++++++ All paper submissions will be done electronically, as indicated in the instructions on the conference web site http://grc2011.nuk.edu.tw. All papers will be peer reviewed and accepted papers will be published by the IEEE Press and Indexed by EI (GrC 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 are indexed by EI). ############################## Introduction to GrC2011 ############################## Granular Computing (GrC) is a general computation theory for effectively using granules such as classes, clusters, subsets, groups and intervals to build an efficient computational model for complex applications with huge amounts of data, information and knowledge. Though the label is relatively recent, the basic notions and principles of granular computing, though under different names, have appeared in many related fields, such as information hiding in programming, granularity in artificial intelligence, divide and conquer in theoretical computer science, interval computing, cluster analysis, fuzzy and rough set theories, neutrosophic computing, quotient space theory, belief functions, machine learning, databases, and many others. IEEE GrC 2011 will continue to address the issues related to Granular Computing and its applications. IEEE GrC 2011 will provide researchers from universities, laboratories and industry to present state-of-the-art research results and methodologies in theory and applications of granular computing. The conference will also make it possible for researchers and developers to highlight their new research directions and new interactions with novel computing models. To broaden more impact on granular computing and its applications, IEEE GrC 2011 will focus on currently important major research tracks such as neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation, rough sets, e-intelligence (Web intelligence, semantic Web, Web informatics), bioinformatics, medical informatics, security, and data mining. ########### Contact ########### Tzung-Pei Hong: tphong@nuk.edu.tw T.Y.
