Richard Sylvan (formerly Routley, 1935 - 1996) was an Australasian philosopher whose work continues to have a major impact in logic, metaphysics, environmental philosophy, and more. Beyond the Possible is a conference dedicated to Sylvan's memory, to be held at the University of Melbourne, July 27-29 2011.
