IEA/AIE-2012 CALL FOR PAPERS
Sponsored by: International Society of Applied Intelligence (ISAI)
In Cooperation with: Artificial Intelligence and the Simulation of Behavior (AISB),
Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI); Association for Computing
Machinery (ACM/SIGART, SIGKDD); Austrian Association for Artificial Intelligence
(OeGAI); Catalan Association for Artificial Intelligence (ACIA); Chinese Association of
Artificial Intelligence (CAAI); Dalian University of Technology (DLUT); European Neural
Network Society (ENNS); International Neural Network Society (INNS); Italian Artificial
Intelligence Association (AI*IA); Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI);
Lithuanian Computer Society--Artificial Intelligence Section (LIKS-AIS); Slovenian Artificial
Intelligence Society (SLAIS); Spanish Society for Artificial Intelligence (AEPIA); Taiwanese
Association for Artificial Intelligence (TAAI); Taiwanese Association for Consumer
Electronics (TACE); Texas State University-San Marcos.

We invite you to the most beautiful city in China, vacation-happy Dalian, for the TWENTY
FIFTH International Conference on Industrial, Engineering & Other Applications of Applied
Intelligent Systems (IEA/AIE-2012) on June 9-12, 2012. We hope you will be able to
participate, however the deadline for paper submission (Nov. 11, 2011) is fast approaching
and places at the conference are limited. So, whether you are new to IEA/AIE or one of
our conference veterans, come join us for another exciting conference on applications of
Applied Intelligent Systems while enjoying the mid-summer beauty of Dalian, the site of the

Dalian enjoys five-star status as one of Chinas premiere destination cities, attracting a
large number of tourists from all over the world. It is the supermodel of Chinese cities,
thoroughly modern with a highly developed software industry and host of the national
software trade fair. It is known for its pleasant climate, scenic mountains, panoramic views,
pine-jammed mountain slopes for hiking and camping, beaches, and colonial architecture,
all with just-minutes-from-downtown-accessibility. Dalian is famous for its squares and
green places, having the largest square in China. Other attractions include Dalians 3,000
cherry trees, Forest Zoos great red pandas, 705 islands along the coast, swimming,
boating, fishing, and championship-caliber golf, ancient temples, twisting river valleys,
theatres and concert halls. Dalian was awarded one of the Worlds 500 Best Environment
Cities. It is the only city in China and one of only two cities in Asia so honoured.
Here are some of the great benefits in store for conference participants:
IEA/AIE has been ranked 46 among 701 conferences in the Artificial Intelligence
Conference Ranking and Top 5 among Industrial Engineering conferences
If accepted, your paper will be published in the prestigious Springer/Verlag s "Lecture
Notes in Artificial Intelligence" series as a part of the IEA/AIE-2012 conference
proceedings.

If selected, your paper will be published along with other outstanding papers in a special
issue of the prestigious International Journal of Applied Intelligence.
Members of participating organisations can look forward to conference discounts.
Enjoy a full banquet in the beautiful environment of Dalian.
Remember, everyone is welcome, so let your friends and colleagues know about this
exciting event and the opportunities it will provided.
For further details on how to participate, see our conference Call for Papers, provided
below and brows the conference website (http://ssdut.dlut.edu.cn/iea-aie/). We will be
looking forward to the submission of your papers to IEA/AIE-12 and will highly appreciate
your dissemination of this information to your friends and colleagues.
SCOPE: IEA/AIE-2012 continues the tradition of emphasizing applications of applied
intelligent systems to solve real-life problems in all areas including engineering, science,
industry, automation & robotics, business & finance, medicine and biomedicine,
bioinformatics, cyberspace, and man-machine interactions. IEA/AIE-12 will include oral
paper presentations, invited speakers, and special sessions.
Invitation: Authors are invited to submit their papers in English of up to 10 pages,
presenting the results of original research or innovative practical applications. Practical
experiences with state-of-the-art AI methodologies are also acceptable when they reflect
lessons of unique value to the conference attendees. Shorter works, up to 6 pages, may
be submitted as short papers representing work in progress or suggesting possible
research directions.

PAPER SUBMISSION: All paper submissions will be done electronically, at the web site
http://ssdut.dlut.edu.cn/iea-aie/. Papers will be peer reviewed and final copies of papers for
inclusion in the conference proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag (format
instructions available at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html) in their 'Lecture
Notes in Artificial Intelligence' series. Referees will be asked to nominate papers for a Best
Paper Award to be announced at the conference. All papers will be automatically
considered for publication in an expanded form in selected international journals, including
Applied Intelligence, Soft Computing, Evolutionary Intelligence, Journal of Ambient
Intelligence and Humanized Computing.
