Research Engineer position in 3D video analysis at Telefonica R&D

A position is available within the 3D video group of the Video Technologies Department at Telefonica R&D Barcelona (http://www.tid.es). We are looking for a motivated candidate with a strong background in Image Processing and/or Computer Vision. Several project opportunities exist, involving work in different aspects of 3D Video: 3D Reconstruction, Image Based Modeling and Rendering, Stereo, Shape from Silhouette, Tracking and Gesture Recognition. The successful applicant will have a master's or PhD on a relevant discipline and significant working or academic experience on the field. The candidate will be expected to propose solutions to computer vision problems, implement and document those solutions. General programming knowledge in C/C++ is assumed, and familiarity with Linux and OpenCV will be a plus. This position is to be filled immediately. Excellent oral and written English are required, and although Spanish is not a requisite, it will be valued. The applicant will also be involved in writing new project proposals related with video. The Video Technologies department is a dynamic group within Telefonica R&D which is leading some of the most advanced work in video in Spain through both Spanish and European funded R&D projects. It is composed of more than 20 leading researchers/developers in fields as diverse as hardware prototyping, software development and video/image analysis.
