1st Computational Intelligence Symposium (CIS) @ AISB 2014
** Submission deadline extended to the 24th January 2014 **
** No further deadline extensions will be granted **

This symposium, focussing on the theory and application of computational intelligence techniques
will take place as part of the AISB 2014 convention from *April 1st-4th 2014 *at Goldsmiths,
University of London, UK.

*Symposium Description*
The field of computational intelligence is a broad one, encompassing nature-inspired computation,
machine learning, intelligent agents, robotics, soft computing and data mining. These research
areas have led to valuable insights into human cognition and a vast array of novel methods for
optimising systems, mining large scale data and improving human-computer interaction across a
large number of application areas. This symposium is designed to provide a forum for researchers
in computational AI to exchange ideas and to present their theoretical and applied work to a group
of like-minded individuals.

*Call for Papers*
Authors are invited to submit contributions based on any novel research in computational
intelligence of a theoretical or applied nature. The indicative scope of computational
intelligence will include (but is not limited to) the following areas:

* Nature-Inspired Computation
* Machine Learning
* Swarm Intelligence
* Expert Systems
* Intelligent Agents
* Robotics
* Soft Computing
* Data Mining

*Paper Length*
Finalised papers should be no longer than 8 pages in the format specified below.

Please submit extended abstracts (between 1 and 2 pages) in Microsoft Word format.
Please submit papers by e-mailing a PDF copy of your paper along with your contact details to
the symposium chair.

*Important Dates*
Submission deadline:3rd January 2014
Author Notification:3rd February 2014
Camera Ready Copy: 24th February 2014

*Convention Information*
The Convention will consist mainly of a number of collocated Symposia on specific research areas,
interspersed with Convention-wide refreshment breaks, social events and invited Plenary Talks. All
papers other than the invited Plenaries will be given within Symposia.

There will be a separate proceedings for each symposium, produced before the Convention.
Each delegate at the Convention will receive, on arrival, a memory stick containing the
proceedings of all symposia.
