Senior Researcher: Eu Project MUSING, Innsbruck
Senior Researcher for the EU FP6 Project MUSING Position Summary The senior researcher will be responsible for research and development as well as internal management and coordination tasks within the MUSING [http://www.musing.eu/] project funded through the EU FP6 program. MUSING aims at developing a new generation of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and modules based on semantic-based knowledge and content systems. MUSING delivers next-generation knowledge management solutions and services to enable perceptive business intelligence activities, directly at the End- Users premises. By applying innovative technological solutions, MUSING provides exclusive services for three business intelligence application areas: Financial Risk Management, Internationalization, and IT-Operational Risk & Business Continuity. Tasks • Supervision of business ontologies development & management. • Integration between ontologies & statistical models. • Coordination of the design, development, and maintenance of a knowledge base persistence infrastructure for business ontologies. • Participation in project meetings, representation of the STI institute in the project. • Project management and coordination (e.g. project plan maintenance). • Scientific publications of research results, presentations of results in conferences, workshops, tutorials, industry fora. Job Requirements • Excellent PhD degree in computer science, business information management, statistics, or mathematics. • Strong experience with ontology development, ontology management and maintenance, ontology inferencing, and ontology learning. • Experience with Semantic Web technologies (e.g. RDF, OWL) and tools (e.g. triple stores). • Knowledge of business classification standards such as XBRL, brXML, and REID • Knowledge of business intelligence application areas such as Financial Risk Management, Internationalization, IT-Operational Risk & Business Continuity, etc. • Knowledge of statistics and uncertainty management in AI. • Project management abilities, such as project plan maintenance. • Availability for limited travel. • Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment. • The applicant should be creative and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills.
