PhD studentship at the Marine Institute and University of Plymouth (DEADLINE: 30/3/2007) http://www.plymouth.ac.uk/marine Research topic: Automatic biota (freshwater & seawater) recognition based on taxonomic features Applications are invited for a PhD student to study the automatic recognising of plankton using taxonomic features. We are looking for motivated students holding an MSc or equivalent degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, computer vision and/or biological sciences or related fields. This project will involve programming, experience in C/C++ or Matlab is a plus. Funding is available for three years.
