CFP: International Conference on Medical Biometrics, ICMB'2008
We cordially invite you to attend the International Conference on Medical
Biometrics (ICMB'2008).
CALL FOR PAPERS
Website: http://www4.comp.polyu.edu.hk/~icbd/
In the medical field, personal multimedia data which can be referred to as
medical biometrics are produced in
ever-increasing quantities and used for diagnostics and therapy. The goals to
develop medical biometric systems are to use
personal features in different formats such as images, signals and other
sources to solve problems in medical field by
applying and integrating statistical, mathematical, electronics and computing
techniques. The importance of the
computerised medicine has drawn more and more attention worldwide and laid the
foundation for various applications in the
future.
However, so far there has been no international conference for researchers to
exchange ideas and technology advancement on
this topic. This conference is the first of such an international forum to meet
the urgent needs and fill in the current
gap between computing technology and medical engineering. It also aims to
provide a unique platform which brings the
researchers, engineers and vendors together to discuss about both research-
oriented and application-oriented issues on
computerized medical systems. In addition, the publication of the conference
proceedings by a well-known publisher will
enhance the impact of this international event with in-depth knowledge in the
latest development, new techniques, novel
ideas and methodologies in medical biometrics. As a result, this conference
will serve the active researchers worldwide
with common interests in the relevant areas who have strong desire for a
platform for social gathering.
This conference has an emphasis on efficient and effective medical biometrics
technologies & systems, and provides a
central forum for researchers, engineers and vendors from different disciplines
to exchange ides, identify problems, study
differences, share common interests, explore new directions, and initiate
possible collaborative research and system
development. This conference will significantly benefit a large variety of
academic and industrial sectors. More
specifically, this conference will cover the following research and application
issues but not limited to:
Medical Sensors for Human Body Measurement
-- Signal Detectors (Ultrasonic, ECG, EGG, Pulse, Photoelectric,
Pressure, ...)
-- 2D/3D Image Capture Devices (CT, Thermograph, Optical-Visible,
Optical-Infrared, ...)
Medical Data Processing & Management
-- Medical Personal Database (Data Acquisition, Storage, Indexing,
Data Mining, Retrieval, ...)
-- Medical Data Processing (Filtering, Compression, Registration,
Enhancement, Smoothing, ...)
Medical Pattern Recognition
-- Feature Extraction for Various Pathologies (Waveform, Image,
Video,
3D, ...)
-- Feature Matching & Decison Theory (SVM, LDA, PCA, ANN, Fuzzy, ...)
Medical Biometrics Systems & Applications
-- System Performance Analysis
-- Various Applications (Health Care, Diagnosis, ...)
Conference Date: January 4-5, 2008
Submission of papers: August 1, 2007
Notification of acceptance: September 1, 2007
Camera-ready copy: September 20, 2007
Author registration: October 1, 2007
ICMB invites high-quality original papers on any topic that is related to
Medical Biometrics. Papers should be no more than
20 pages (double-spaced and 1-sided using a 10 pts font). Each paper will be
refereed by program committee. Papers will be
judged on their originality, significance, correctness and clarity. Please
refer to the conference website for online paper
submission. The proceeding will be published by Springer (LNCS).
Accepted papers of good quality will also be published in a special issue of
international journal: Information Science( SCI indexed).
Looking forward to seeing you in Hong Kong!
Best regards,
ICMB Program Committee |
